On September 7 and 8, the International Symposium on Natural Law will be held in Athens, bringing together academics, jurists, and researchers from different countries for two days of reflection on the philosophical foundations of the legal system, among which Natural Law stands out as of paramount importance.
The event will take place at the headquarters of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) in the Plaka district, at the foot of the Acropolis. The choice of Athens is directly linked to the symposium’s theme: it was within the Greek tradition that reflection on justice, reason, nature, law, and political order took on a decisive philosophical form, profoundly influencing the development of Western legal thought. And any reconstruction of a just and secure legal order cannot overlook Natural Law as its most essential pillar. Hence the need to understand it better, by returning to its origins.
The program will be organized into panels and presentations, addressing the symposium’s main thematic axes, including the philosophical foundations of Natural Law, its relationship with the classical tradition, its implications for legal thought, and its relevance in the face of contemporary challenges to institutions, politics, and public life.
Founded in 1987, the International Academy of Law and Economics (AIDE) is an independent, non-partisan academic institution dedicated to the study of the relationship between Law and Economics. Throughout its history, it has organized conferences, seminars, and academic initiatives that consistently contribute to the development of legal and economic thought.

Nos dias 7 e 8 de setembro, será realizado em Atenas o Simpósio Internacional de Direito Natural, reunindo acadêmicos, juristas e pesquisadores de diferentes países para dois dias de reflexão sobre os fundamentos filosóficos do ordenamento jurídico, entre os quais se destaca com importância primordial o Direito Natural.
O evento ocorrerá na sede da European Public Law Organization - EPLO, na região de Plaka, aos pés da Acrópole. A programação será organizada em painéis e exposições, abordando os principais eixos temáticos do simpósio, entre eles os fundamentos filosóficos do Direito Natural, sua relação com a tradição clássica, seus desdobramentos no pensamento jurídico e sua relevância diante dos desafios contemporâneos das instituições, da política e da vida pública.
Fundada em 1987, a Academia Internacional de Direito e Economia - AIDE é uma instituição acadêmica independente e não partidária, dedicada ao estudo da relação entre Direito e Economia. Ao longo de sua trajetória, tem promovido congressos, seminários e iniciativas acadêmicas que contribuem de forma consistente para o desenvolvimento do pensamento jurídico e econômico.
