He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), graduating with Honorable Mention in the final examination. With a scholarship awarded by UNAM, he obtained a PhD in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain, receiving the distinction Apto Cum Laude.

He completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Rome, Italy, in the field of Law of Integration and Unification of Law within the Romanistic Legal System (European Law and Latin American Law), funded by the European Community. He also undertook advanced studies in Human Rights at the Centro di Ricerca e di Studio sui Diritti Umani at the Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli (LUISS) in Rome, Italy, as part of the III Advanced Course on the Internal and International Aspects of the Protection of Human Rights.

He carried out research stays at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, Rome, Italy, and at the University of A Coruña, Galicia, Spain, with a scholarship granted by the Government of Galicia.

He has served as a visiting professor and researcher at the University of the Andes, Santiago de Chile, invited by FONDECYT. He was also a teaching assistant in practical courses at the Department of Philosophy of Law and Natural Law at the University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain. He has been a guest professor at the Austral University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and at the Catholic University of San Pablo, Arequipa, Peru.

He has participated as a panelist at the International Meeting of Professors of Philosophy of Law and Human Rights in Bellavista, Buenos Aires, and has delivered lectures at universities in Argentina, Chile, Italy, Spain, the United States (Washington and Utah), and Peru.

He has taught in doctoral and master’s programs in Law at several Mexican universities, including UNAM, and has delivered courses on Judicial Ethics for judicial institutions at both state and federal levels. Since 2005, he has been an external lecturer in the course Ethical Principles of Judicial Function at the Federal Judicial Institute of Mexico. In 2015, he conducted the workshop Judicial Ethics organized by the Judicial Training and Research School of the Superior Court of Justice of Arequipa, where he also delivered a keynote lecture.
