Who is Rodolfo Vigo? Rodolfo Luis Vigo is a lawyer. He holds a degree in Political Science and a PhD inLegal and Social Sciences. Judge of the Civil and Commercial Chamber (1984-1988)and Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Province of Santa Fe, Argentina(1988-2007). President of the Federal Board of Supreme Courts and High Courts ofthe Argentine provinces (1994-1997). Konex Award in the Judges category (1998).Professor and lecturer at various universities in America and Europe. Member of theEditorial Board of various legal journals. Co-writer with Manuel Atienza of the ModelCode of Judicial Ethics for Ibero-America approved by the Ibero-American JudicialSummit in 2006 and First Executive Secretary of the Ibero-American Commission ofJudicial Ethics (2006-2010). President of the Argentinean Association of Philosophyof Law (2006-2010). Full member of the National Academy of Law and SocialSciences of Buenos Aires, and corresponding member of the Academy of Law andSocial Sciences of Cordoba (Argentina) and of the Royal Academy of Moral andPolitical Sciences of Spain. He has received Honorary Doctorates (Mexico,Argentina, Peru, Paraguay, Bolivia). Author of more than twenty-five books. ‘RodolfoLuis Vigo Chair’ created in 2010 by the Judiciary of Tabasco, Mexico. ‘Rodolfo LuisVigo Award’ - 2021 edition instituted by the Mexican Academy of Law and intendedto reward magistrates for excellence in their service. Medal for ‘Legal Merit’ awardedby the University of Guanajuato (Mexico) in October 2023.
